Overview

tmux-binder keeps sessions, windows and panes in one sidebar. Move through the tree and the selected pane appears immediately; press Enter when you want to work there. Opening or closing the sidebar applies everywhere, including detached sessions.

Each window summarizes coding-agent activity even while its pane list stays collapsed. The marks show when Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, OpenCode, Pi, Kiro or Grok is working, waiting for input, delegating or finished. Those hooks are optional and stay off until you install them.

The sidebar remembers its width, follows your tmux theme and stays in the terminal: search, Unicode names and native context menus. It needs tmux 3.4 or newer, Python 3.10 with curses, and Bash. Add it with TPM, reload the config, then open it with prefix + t.

What it does

  • Live preview of the selected pane while you stay in the sidebar
  • One shared sidebar across every session, including detached ones
  • Agent activity on each window, even when its panes are collapsed
  • Search, rename and native context menus inside tmux
